Class action law suit filed against Las Vegas race
« on: November 20, 2023, 09:27:27 PM »
Y'all thought I was joking about the Attack of the Lawyers. Sure 'nuff, a class action law suit has been filed about Debacle in the Desert.

It turns out it was worse than we thought. The red flag ended FP1 after just a few minutes. Then Las Vegas police and track security ran the spectators out of the stands before the long delayed start of FP2.

The suit is being filed on behalf of 35,000 members of the ticket buying public.

This includes a link to the actual court filing:

Reminds me of a bus wreck where the Police had to keep people from getting on the bus.
Mark Twain once opined, "it's easier to con someone than to convince them they've been conned."

Love the snark.

I absolutely agree, if you pay to watch practice, you get to watch practice.  I think we all understand when weather play a hand in things, but at the prices paid, the promoters don't get a 'gimme' for being unprepared.

The fans most certainly have a case.
Either provide the event for which the ticket price was paid or refund all the money.
The fact the police were called in to remove fans from the seats tells that the organizers had no idea what to do and were deathly afraid of a riot outbreak if left unchecked.
