Power struggle within adds to Audi F1 start up problems

When will corporate leaders & bodies learn that basking in F1 glory is best achieved by leaving capable experts to get on with it.

Run the car company and leave F1 team free to rise or stumble.
Only interfere when underperformance means heads must roll.  |-(

Personally, I always liked the Honda approach of using postings to the F1 team as an internal reward for jobs well done at the company.

Maybe not the best way to run an F1 team (as evidenced by Honda's atrocious showing), but when a foreign corporation just slaps their name on an F1 team in Motorsports valley, it feels inauthentic.

I know that Audi is in the sport to win, and logically they should follow the winning formula of signing cheques and letting the people who know what they're doing do what they know how to do.  But if they're not going to be an involved 'parent' then are they really showing the world they know how to make great cars, or just splash money around?

(I feel the same way about other 'manufacturer' teams.  Aside from Ferrari of course.)
