The Lionheart (Dan Wheldon movie)

Last night I watched the Dan Wheldon documentary 'The Lionheart'.

I must admit I'd stopped watching American open wheel racing during Wheldon's career so wasn't super familiar with him, aside from the highlights and his death.

The narrative tells two stories, one about Dan's racing career, and then also the start of the karting careers of his two sons.  His widow/their mother being the lynchpin connecting both parts.

I think the fact that a lot of IndyCar royalty is involved both in the documentary and the lives of his widow/sons says a lot about Dan as a human being.

I felt it was a very touching doc, and Suzie Wheldon is an exceptional woman navigating a tough road.
