Toyota is rejoining F1 as Haas' technical partner, effective next weekend at the US GP.
I didn't expect that!
While I know that most manufacturer's involvement in F1 is signing cheques to small engineering firms to slap their name on the cars/engines, I'm curious what this relationship will be, and if Toyota is seeing if this can grow into something bigger.
John S:
Pretty sure this is just Haas buying in facilities & expertise, possibly part of deal is paid for by exposure of Toyota name on car.
Toyota still have their wind tunnel in Germany and other F1 teams have used it at various times but most have built their own or use tunnels closer to their home bases. There's no suggestion that Haas are replacing Dallara as their chassis builder - at present anyway. ;)
Even Toyota Gazoo racing have to look to the pennies from diversification in modern business practice.

So Cossie, you've only just realised Haas is just the name on the door, all other real work done by other parties. :tease:
