Flav wields the Axe at Alpine F1 base in Enstone

No job losses promised at Viry by Renault, but job cuts aplenty at Enstone.  :(

In a world where big car makers are coming under the cosh from China's electric vehicle charge I guess part of Briatore's brief is to bring costs down at the British racing stable.
He certainly seems to have done that.

A 25% cut in the workforce seems a tad drastic though.
I can't believe all of them have been underperforming.

A quick Google search shows it's hard to find a head count at other F1 teams, but even 850 seems to be on the bigger side, so the 1,150 does seem bloated for Enstone.  Maybe there is plenty of 'fat to trim' from successive management turn overs not wanting to let people go without really knowing why they're there.

Obviously these are people with careers, families, homes, etc., so I don't want to see any of them gone.  Although taking a job in Motorracing isn't exactly where you go for stability, is it?
