What was the first F1 rear engined car

Wow! I had no idea that Cooper-Bristol T40 car took to the F1 race track, mind you I was only 5 years old at that time.  :D

There was the Auto Union type A to C that raced in GP races from 1934 to 37. Although F1 came from those GP races heritage it wasn't F1 til 1950 so doesn't count.
