Seems Thai GP is on cards in future for F1 as MoU is signed.

Not sure if I'm in favour of yet another street track, what does anyone else think?

I'm surprised Thailand hasn't had a GP sooner as its a big base for Red Bull, seeing how much Mateschitz has poured into Austrian GP one might have expected Red Bull money to help with Thai GP before now.

How can they award a race to a venue that doesn't even have a course laid out yet? The ultimate in "destination races." The race doesn't matter at all, just the pretty buildings.

Jericoke:
Chicken and egg, why spend the money on an F1 spec facility without a guarantee of having an F1 race once it's built?

I wish they'd build more purpose built tracks.  A new, modern facility designed to host a 'party' as well as races.  The 'new' middle east places get that right.

Whatever happened to the Viet Nam GP?

The Napalm wasn't as effective at clearing the jungle for a track as they'd reckoned.  |-(  :D :D
