What tariff's may mean to F1 and American auto sports

(1/1)

Dare:
Not to mention food, gas, medicine and everything

Jericoke:
Obviously we'd like to leave international politics out of this site as much as possible.

As tough as the tariffs are for domestic autosports in the USA will be (Dallara makes their IndyCar chassis in Indiana though, don't they?), the bigger issue for F1 will be immigration issues.  The stories of legal immigrants and visitors to the USA being taken away to prison without trial are becoming far too frequent.  We already know that Tsunoda had trouble getting into Las Vegas last year.  Stories are coming out that visitors for the 2026 World Cup have already missed their window to enter the USA legally.  Will F1 fans be able to come?  Will non American competitors be welcome?

John S:
So apart from Honda possibly walking away from Indycar there seems to be little immediate impact on F1 or American Autosport from the tariffs as far as I can see.
This can all change of course if other countries ramp up retaliatory measures.

According to The Racer, most of the IndyCar Dallara DW-12 comes from Italy. Looks like IMSA is going to be hit hard by Trump's Super Tax, too.
