losses force closure of Lewis Hamilton’s vegan burger chain
John S:
Hamilton's Neat Burger vegan chain is closing all of its UK locations.
Lewis helped launch Neat Burger six years ago, with Hollywood A-lister Leonardo DiCaprio, the first outlet opened near Regent Street, London in 2019. It claimed to be “the first international, plant-based burger chain”.
But after suffering “substantial losses” in 22, 23 & presumably 24, all remaining UK branches are set to close their doors for good.
Perhaps people are just not ready to give up Meat, Lewis. :D

I'm a meat eater myself, but I suspect one day someone will 'crack' the vegetarian/vegan code and create food that is enjoyable, healthy, affordable and sustainable. Won't happen if people don't keep trying. So while I doubt I'd be caught dead in a place like Hamilton's burger chain, I'm glad they were willing to put in the money and time to see if it was possible.

I want a "Replicator" as in Star Trek whatever you want whenever you want and always perfect!
Please don't tell me it's just a tv show and destroy the dream! LOL

Used to be a little place just off ASU's campus in Tempe that served a really good vegan burger. It didn't last either.

Star Trek has been aspirational for scientists and engineers unlike anything else. So much modern technology was first 'seen' in the 1960s in the hands of Kirk, Spock et al.
