Was Dutch GP a wet race?

(1/2) > >>

John S:
I'm a little puzzled as I'm pretty sure rain fell during the race at Zandvoort yesterday, yet GG has it scored as a dry race.

I realise the FIA probably don't recognise it as a wet race since it started in dry conditions, however I'm pretty certain that Lewis shunt would not have taken place without some precipitation coming down. I'm also pretty sure I saw the crowds pulling on ponchos, rain macs & raising umbrellas.

GG rules leave it open to interpretation, my vote goes to wet race.  :D
Anyone else got a view?

Jericoke:
As a non GG participant, I say if no one deployed wet/intermediate tires, and the FIA didn't declare it a 'wet race', then it's not a wet race, despite the raindrops victimizing Lewis and effectively Charles.

Dare:
That's what we usually go by Jeri. Reading live timing it was
called a drizzle. If conditions became so bad cars started diving
in the pits for a tire change it would be different

cosworth151:
I agree with Dare & Jeri. That way it doesn't require use to make a judgement call from the other side of the world on how wet the track was.

John S:
OK, it seems the consensus so far is use of intermediate or wet tyres is the litmus test for a wet race. I can live with that too.
