It does feel a little unfair if you spend millions of dollars to build a car that can get a few more laps out of set of tires and have that taken away. 

I hope they've got a rule in place in the off chance a car hits 25 laps while the pitlane is closed.

Reminds me of the USGP at Indy in 2005. (Was that really 20 years ago? Dang!    ) Most of you probably remember that a similar problem caused all of the Michelin shod teams to withdraw after the formation lap.

The timeline is weird, because at the time, it was thought that farce would kill grand prix racing in the USA for a generation, and not even 20 years later the USA has three grands prix!
