Author Topic: And so 'the grey area' games begin for F1 superiority in New Regs era  (Read 1629 times)

Exploitation of loopholes is already in full swing it seems ahead of the 2026 season.
Some engine makers may have taken full advantage and have that advantage built in from early homologation.  :swoon:

Can't wait for them all to bring it on.  ;)

I understand that the whole point of the rules in F1 is create the 'formula' that defines the cars.

However, I don't really understand these micromanaging rules.  Is there a good reason to limit the compression ratio?  Is there a materials issue, that if they let teams fly too close the sun that the engines will explode, perhaps dangerously?

Otherwise, I get it, you build the car to pass the rules, and if the rules are 'measured at conditions x', what else can you expect the teams to do?  Invent their own tests?  In a cap world that feels like a waste of money.
