Top F1 teams choose different tyre strategies for Barca test

Red Bull go almost entirely soft, Merc are stocked high with hards, Macca & Ferrari have gone conservative with total mix.

Problem for us fans trying to gauge pecking order as no official info on times or on which tyres.

Some timing released by Barca circuit to Media this morning, although that data stream seems to have ended as it may have been released in error.

I wonder if the tire allocation was chosen by the teams or Pirelli?  (And even if officially 'by the teams', doesn't mean Pirelli didn't lean on them to choose a specific allocation)

I suppose the live timing was being tested as well, which makes sense.

Maybe they're also testing their media damage control by 'accidentally' leaking information?

I do think this is an ideal way to alienate your supporters by hiding the action away as they only exist to be seen and supported.
I have not seen any reason that I thought was reasonable for doing so!  :nono:
Once you have retired every day is a Saturday!
