A bit of an interesting read.  Going between the lines, talking about how much 'work' that Lewis, Max and Schumacher put in, they sort of imply that Charles isn't putting in that work.

What I find most interesting about Hamilton's recent success is his pronouncement that he's given up the simulator. I am sure that the simulator helps with some things, but I never understood how it could 100% replicate being in the race car... and if it can't 100% replicate it, what's the point?

But building off what Smedly has said, we can go back to Nico Rosberg discussing how much of his life he had to give up to beat Hamilton, so it's not even news that Hamilton is more dedicated than the average racer.

It affected NR so much its the reason he retired  and it should also be taken into consideration the failures that LH had that year and only lost the WC by a single point.
I know there are many who dislike LH but in an interview NR said that most of the collisions between the two of the were down to him as LH's brilliance usually kept him out of such contact.

I have driven some pretty sophisticated racing games including one where you had a "cockpit" and full controls minus the bodywork. I admit to not being very good, but there is no feeling of the car moving around or sliding. No little wiggle before the rear steps out, nothing. Don't know how realistic F1 simulators are, but I don't see how they can recreate the feel of the car.

I admit to not being very good, but there is no feeling of the car moving around or sliding. No little wiggle before the rear steps out, nothing. Don't know how realistic F1 simulators are, but I don't see how they can recreate the feel of the car.

I used to mess with GP Legends years ago. J Stewart said it was harder than the actual cars. It was based on the 67 F1 season. It's still available . I wasn't very good at it either

Not easier, but certainly quite different unless they have discovered a way to recreate g-forces and car movement. I just could not tell when or even if the car was approaching the limit of traction.

I stopped playing video games when my very young boys were thrashing me every time I knew my days were over!  :'(
