Author Topic: US coverage of Austrian GP may be free for some this weekend  (Read 3468 times)

Offline John S

This weekend those in the US can watch the entire Austrian GP weekend free, without subscription on Apple TV, according to the-Race.com.

Here is Apple TV website https://tv.apple.com/us/channel/formula-1/tvs.sbd.241000  you'll need to confirm US not UK.

You lucky people. You'll have to get up early though to watch it live, maybe Fairy Godmother Apple will take pity on late risers and do some re-runs.  :D

Friday June 26

Practice 1: 4.30am (PDT), 7.30am (EDT)
Practice 2: 8am (PDT), 11am (EDT)

Saturday June 27

Practice 3: 3.30am (PDT), 6.30am (EDT)
Qualifying: 7am (PDT), 10am (EDT)

Sunday June 28

Austrian Grand Prix: 6am (PDT), 9am (EDT)

I'm sure you all know what (PDT) & (EDT) means.  ;)

Not so lucky, last we got all the North and South American races along
with Monaco on ota tv. And we lost F1TV too.

Many of us avoid anything Apple like the plague.

Actually Apple is pretty cheap     $12.99 per month or $99.00 per year

I think part is something that used to be included with cable is
now forcing you to buy a streaming service.

I started streaming because cable got too expensive. Now I pay more for streaming apps and get less overall content. Nobody offers the things I want at a reasonable price. And they all claim they are losing money and jack the prices up every 6 months. I'm about ready to give up TV.

That's a regular excuse but do they mean "we are not making enough money" rather than loosing money?

it's funny, they had a model that was working.  I pay for Netflix, Netflix pays Disney, and I watch a Disney movie.  But no, Netflix wanted to make their own movies so they don't have to pay anyone, and Disney wanted me to send the money directly to them.

So now a company that makes a great streaming service makes crappy movies, and company that makes great movies makes a crappy streaming service.

If you have a series or movie you like get the streaming series watch
it then cancel. Cheaper than renting the movie or buying the series.

Sometimes you can wait and get a special price. I got HBO for $2.85 a
month for a year
