Apparently TWG Global, the owners of Cadillac F1, Andretti Global (IndyCar, Formula E), Spire Motor (NASCAR), Wayne Taylor Racing (IMSA) is in trouble, as it's CEO/owner Maker Walters has been doing something bad in the financial sense.
They just had to sell the Los Angeles Lakers, arguably the premiere basketball team, and word is they might divest of all their sports properties, including the Los Angeles Dodgers (reigning World Series Champions (boo! Jays 4ever!)), Chelsea FC, some prominent professional women's sports, including the entire Professional Women's Hockey League
I'm sure most of the sports teams have eager buyers for fair value. They bought the Lakers last year for 10 billion and sold for 12.5 this year. I don't know if there is demand for buying an F1 team that is a lot of sunk costs into development and anti-dilution fees that aren't really of value to a buyer. The other teams don't want Cadillac sold at a discount, since that would crash their own values but I can't see someone paying to cover the costs that Cadillac considered investments in the future. Especially a team that is yet to prove that a three part organization can work.
