Lewis next to confirm Ferrari contract extension? Monza announcement likely

He's expected to extend his Ferrari stay through 2027, with Spanish Formula 1 journalist Carlos Miquel claiming an announcement on Lewis contract extension could come before Monza.

Speaking on El Partidazo de COPE, Miquel said the seven-time world champion's future is effectively settled.

"Make a note of one name who is definitely going to extend his contract with his current team: Lewis Hamilton with Ferrari," he said.

Carlos goes on to say "Make a note of it today, because you'll probably see them announce it just before Monza."

Hamilton's original Ferrari agreement is widely understood to contain a 2-plus-1 structure, with the additional season now expected to be activated.

Looks like so called 'Silly Season' rumour mill is a bit of a damp squib this year and will only apply to mid & back of grid drivers , if at all.

Hamilton and Ferrari definitely seem to have 'clicked' in 2026, which is great for fans of both.

If this had been a re-run of 2025 I wonder if Hamilton would have continued.
