Who knew a topic on Max's millions could lead to a cheap Hotdog, Burger & vehicle fuel memory fest? 

In the spirit of cordial transatlantic relations I remember Mars bars at 6d (2.4 new pence), bag of chips from chipshop 9d (3.75 new pence) - not french fries proper thick chips, & a gallon of petrol for 5 shillings (25 new pence).
All circa 1966, blimey that's 60 years ago if my grey cells are still functioning right. Oh happy days!

White Castle is based in Columbus, Ohio. At that time they were only in a handful of big cities here in the midwest. For most of my life there was always talk that someday soon we'd get a White Castle. we finally did in the early 2000's

Before that, if someone went to Columbus, they not only ate at a White Castle (a.k.a. Porcelain Palace) but they also brought home a bag of frozen ones to nuke later.
