On Wednesday, the FIA published its findings for both the first and second periods of its evaluations into the ICE power outputs. The first after Canadian Grand Prix and second after the Hungarian Grand Prix.
FIA’s results officially confirm Red Bull's RBPT is deemed to have the strongest ICE engine which results in no upgrades or new homologations.
Mercedes is put in the 2-4% window, enabling manufacturer one upgrade in 2026 and one homologation in 2027, alongside cost cap and dyno testing increases.
Ferrari, Audi and Honda were all found to be above the 4% threshold, enabling all three manufacturers two upgrades for both 2026 and 2027.
Since most experts, pundits, commentators and a lot of us believe Merc Power unit (ICE & Battery/MGU-K) is the best, closely followed by Ferrari, some thing must be amiss in the FORD/RBPT power unit.
If the FIA is correct, they have data on all ICE engines as proof after all, then without a rather big glich in the Ai software it's got to be Ford's MGU-K & Battery technology holding Red Bull back.
Time for Ford to pull their finger out???
