The MALAYSIAN GP THREAD
« on: April 02, 2007, 07:06:11 PM »
BBCSport Motorsport have come up with a splended graphic which takes you round Sepang Malaysia with a commentary by Jarno Trulli.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/circuit_guide/4244253.stm

The Malaysian Grand Prix is held on the first of Formula One's new breed of ultra-modern, high-tech tracks.

Sepang made quite an impact when it made its debut in 1999 - it is beautifully designed, has a challenging layout and wonderful facilities.

Built on land that was formerly jungle near Kuala Lumpur's new international airport, the track exposes the drivers to inevitably hot and humid conditions.

That makes Sepang's demanding curves all the greater test.

All posts regarding the Malaysian GP can be posted here.

Wonder why BBC used Trulli instead of a
British driver, and it would have been better
with real footage of tracks

the course by heart and you know what turns

L' Eau Rouge I think?at Spa where Fisichella crashed
in 05 on a wet track. One of the best tracks in games
and for real

It is that, get your position just right and take it flat out, a little bit wrong tho' and your in all sorts of trouble.

Here's another lap of the track, done in video game style, with no commentary:

One thing I've noticed about the track is that each side of the V-shaped main grandstand seems to have a good view of half the track.

Reminds me of that half hour f1 show on Speed Channel
last year,can't remember the name

When Speed Channel was called Speed Vision they had
a much better selection of F1 shows.Remember F1 Decade
and they had shows of the vintage drivers and races

Speedvision was much better all around back in the pre-Fox days. F1 Decade, Legions of Motorsport, WRC and so many more. I really liked some of the retrospective shows that Alain de Chadenay (I know I mis-spelled that) and David Hobbs used to host. Now it's all junk like "Pinks" and NASCAR til you're nausious!
