The GP Euro Series – LA GRANDE PASSIONE (The Great Passion) is the inaugural meeting of an event presenting 12 races featuring 240 racing cars covering 50 golden years of GP and sports car racing up to the late 1970s. La Grande Passione is at the heart of this event with many Ferrari, Maserati and Alfa Romeo cars competing. But just as passionate are the famous British, German and French racing designs, the engineers who maintain them and not least the owners and very competitive drivers who use the maximum potential of these legendary machines which have a combined value in excess of £30 million.

240 of the greatest racing cars ever made will battle for each sweeping curve of Donington Park in 12 races over the Bank Holiday weekend of 6th and 7th May, 2007. These rare and exciting cars are provided by the two leading historic racing organisations; the Historic Grand Prix Cars Association and the Masters Racing Series. This meeting is the most authoritative historic racing event on the spring calendar.
 
If you think modern F1 is boring and rather processional, with overtaking only happening in the pits - then watch this meeting - close racing with places being swapped every lap and you will see why it is called La Grand Passione?
GP – Grande Passione Grand Prix cars covering a 50 year golden era of racing will be competing and you can get up close to them all in the Paddock. See the actual cars driven by legends; Moss, Fangio, Hawthorn, Clark, Hill, Brooks, Surtees, Brabham, Hunt, Fittipaldi, Stewart, Rindt, Reutemann, Beltoise, Cevert, Bonnier and Peterson.

The front engine pre ‘61 grid you should see the ex Phil Hill Monza GP winning Ferrari 246 versus the Lister Monzapolis versus the ex Rob Walker Connaught b-type.

In the rear engine pre ‘66 grid don’t miss a gaggle of the early 2½ litre Cooper’s ex Moss/Trintignant/Brabham battling with the later V8’s, T66 T73 originally driven by McLaren/Amon/Gardner/Hill/Bonnier

A number of these GP cars have not raced in the UK for some years. Look out for the ex-Jacky Ickx 1970/71 Ferrari 312B. And plans are advanced for two Italian based Niki Lauda era Ferraris never seen in the UK before.

All the important race teams are represented; Cooper, Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa Romeo, BRM, Lotus, McLaren, Tyrrell, Connaught, Matra, Wolf, March, and more. Many of these cars were driven to F1 podium positions in period.

Most racing enthusiasts agree there’s nothing quite as electrifying as hearing an F1 DVF engine on the red line.
