Former Ferrari technical director - and arguably the most wanted man in the F1 paddock - Ross Brawn says he's not impressed by the F1 coverage in the UK, where it is broadcast by ITV.
Brawn is currently taking a year out from the sport and considering his numerous options for a return but is meanwhile left frustrated by what he sees as poor coverage of the sport.
"It's definitely a new experience for me to watch it with a different perspective and also the quality of commentators on British TV," Brawn told Autosport magazine. "It's very frustrating to watch F1 on British TV. We're used to having all the data and all the split times and we can see the race developing. What's clear when you watch on TV is you don't get that information."
"Our commentators don't seem very good at conveying what is going on," he added. "It's very frustrating to watch a race and not have that information which is available to everyone at the track."
ITV's coverage has over the years come in for a lot of criticism, not least the various campaigns amongst F1 fans to have the station's lead commentator James Allen replaced. Some fans even had t-shirts made up to support their campaign and were spotted at a number of races last year.
Ross we have been saying it for years, welcome to the club.As for James Allen,I know what a few members here would like to do with his microphone and commentating.
I dont think we need a pole on the outcome of this debate.
