Yeah I love a bit of Hammer. I remember stig, getting back from the pub on a Friday night and trying to watch the film. Peter cushing and Cristopher Lee  :good:.

I know he wasn't a big Hammer man but you gotta love Vincent Price, he's excellent in both the Dr Phibes films, he really ham's it up. Oh and as for the 'Witchfinder General', straight out of the top drawer! :good:

Have you got Satellite or freeview Stig? 10 PM tonight on ITV4 Hands of the Ripper!

My old Mum always let me stay up on a Friday to watch the Hammer films and I still love them today. The missus loves them too so sometimes we have a Hammer night.  :good:

It has bread a love for horror films and we buy just about every one released!  :tease:

Thanks dare,The Witchfinder General and Dr Phibes.
I had a drink in a pub in Banwell one of the rooms was said to be used as a court room to sentence the witches.

How about those Roger Corman - Vincent Price - Edgar Allen Poe movies from the 60's? My favorites were The Pit and the Pendulum and House of Usher. Some of them have a very young Jack Nicholson.

The Terror is a good one. They had finished making The Raven and still had the cast, crew costumes and sets for a few more days, so Corman threw a script together and they shot the whole movie in a few days!

They were released by American International, the same people who did the Frankie and Annette beach movies.

I know it's not Hammer but I saw 'The Wicker Man' the other night, the one with Edward Woodward in. Great film, 10/10 from me :good: First time I'd seen it!

The new "Wicker Man," based on all reports I've heard, bears little-to-no resemblance to the original.  The first "Wicker Man' definitely qualifies as a 'cult classic'.  I've seen it 4-5 times over the past 10 years.

Much of the lore and legends behind the movie are true, although they played up the sensational stuff for fame (of course -they all do).

It's a shame, but you very seldom see Hammer films
on tv here anymore. :'(

They were very well made horror movies
and I remember them well from my
childhood :good:
