Nurburgring, although nestled alongside the daunting old circuit, does not rank highly on many current F1 drivers' lists of their favorite stops on the calendar.
Jacques Villeneuve said: "I really don't like (it). It is probably my least favorite Formula One track."
What is not average about the scene of Sunday's European GP, however, is the weather in the notoriously fickle Eifel forest region. In this area, a forecast is only ever a guide, and - for the Nurburgring - it typically turns out wrong.
Just for the record, then, German weather men in nearby Koblenz are predicting mild temperatures and showery weather this weekend. "It's still early in the year," Cologne-based Toyota's Pascal Vasselon noted, "and in May anything could happen in that part of the world - sun, rain or snow!"
