Yoko's Bentley sale for Lennon Charity
« on: June 06, 2007, 05:56:16 PM »
Saturday June 16th is a day Beatles fans might want to be at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. That’s the day Julien’s Auctions will feature an array of what it considers one of a kind items from the entertainment world, including Yoko Ono’s 2002 Bentley Arnage.

Lennon’s widow, donated the car, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus, which provides free hands-on music programs to high schools, colleges, Boys and Girls Clubs, music festivals, concerts, conventions and community organizations. The Lennon Bus encourages students to play music, write songs, engineer recording sessions and produce music videos.

You can also bid on items ranging from Marilyn Monroe’s polka-dot umbrella, to the original microphone Elvis Pressley used at the Louisiana Hayride where he made his world radio debut on October 16, 1954. Pressley’s original recording from the Hayride capturing the infamous coined phrase that became synonymous with The King, “Elvis has left the building” will also be included

Sorry, I can't attend. I'll be in Indy.

― Bob Dylan
