I went to the Glen a few times back in the 70's. It prob. is a better technical course than Indy. I've been to several of the 70's -early 80's street races, too.

I've also been to every GP at Indy. It's a far better week-end than any of the others. (OK, it doesn't have "The Bog", but other than that) ::)

The fact that it's in the middle of a city give it so much more than the Glen ever had. This year I went to the Indy Jazz Fest. A couple of years ago, I went to the Raphael exhibit at the Museum of Art.

I give the race my highest rating. You should give it a try.

Well, Cosworth151, I can tell you that the Glen's course is in much better shape now than when F1 used to be there. nascrap has dumped a ton of money into it and from a standpoint of doing things right, they always do it up right.

Good thing that the bog is gone, as it was truly ugly happenings. I do think the Glen would make a fine venue for a race, as would Road A. and Road Atlanta. and a few others.
I just don't like the confines of Indy, even though its a fine place to race and a very historic and tremendous facility.
I don't know if you have been to Montreal but when you really cannot compare downtown Indy with the Euro flair (food and females) of Montreal.
Montreal is not the bargain it once was as the $$$ exchange has tanked, but it is a taste of Europe for sure.

Believe me no one is happier than I, that F1 racing is doing well in the US, I would love to see a well layed out street race somewhere in the US.   Jeff

Although I'm from Europe where, so far, we have quite a few World Championship GPs, I do feel that the Americas are big enough to warrant more than 2 GPs per annum - Brazil and Indy. I suppose you could also include Montreal, but 3 is still no big number.

So if the FIA really wanted Formula 1 to be a WORLD championship they should really consider treating the Americas on the same footing as they do other continents. How many GPs has Asia got now?

The trouble is, who decides? Who wears the pants? Is it Max or is it $Bernie$.

I don't think there's any doubt that Bernie wears the pants. Max just does what he's told. Let's just say he obeys his elders. :fool:
