Bizarre car names
« on: August 14, 2007, 06:49:59 PM »

Mitsubishi appears to love its mother so much that it has named a car after her.

The firm's bizarrely-named Mum 500 is the latest addition to a string of vehicles which have all been christened with peculiar titles.

Mitsubishi previously named one of its car the Chariot Happy, while Honda has a Joy Machine and Suzuki boasts the arguably best name of the bunch - the Every Joy Pop Turbo.

Other weird and wonderful knightings include Daihatsu's Naked and Nissan's Big Thumb, with many other names translating to equally disturbing visions.

Mitsubishi has previously released a model called the Pajero, which in Spanish means self-pleasure, while Mazda's La Puta means the prostitute and Toyota's Fiera translates to the hideous old crone.

Less offensive but equally strange titles include Rolls Royce's Silver Ghost, Honda's Life Dunk, Mazda's Bongo and the Toyota Deliboy.

A classic example was when Chevy tried to sell its Nova in Mexico. No va is spanish for "won't go."
