Rom's Big Night Out!
« on: August 22, 2007, 04:57:34 PM »

Three Australian men decided to take an unusual lift into town on a night out, by nicking a woman's wheelchair to get to the pub.

While seeking out a watering hole, the three revellers turfed a 70-year-old British woman out of her wheelchair and proceeded to steer themselves to a pub.

The men travelled about 250 metres on the chair before alighting at a bar, leaving the pensioner - who is not completely restricted in movement - stranded for about an hour.

Commenting on the bizarre event, Inspector Terry Gilchrist, said, even more bizarrely: "It's a fairly ordinary performance."

Meanwhile, reporters looking into the difficulties surrounding using a wheelchair came to the conclusion that they should all be fitted with seatbelts, after the journalist in the chair found that he was almost tipped out on several occasions.

Rom was last seen in a wheelchair speeding over the brow of a hill, closely followed by several scantly clad women -  can anyone hear the Benny Hill music???
