Apparently Bild-Zeitung have reported that the Mercedes-Benz executive board have voted to get rid of Alonso.  Interesting timing.

I'd let him drive a submarine with a hole in it.
An aircraft landing is just a controlled crash.

I wouldn't let him drive a tricycle with 2 wheels........

He is a TRULY pathetic excuse for an 'elite' driver.....

Just let him go back to Renault. He'll be fine there.

Timing is perhaps not ideal - Mercedes way of stealing a bit of headline space on the final weekend (like they won't have enough already!).

By the way, is it only up to the Mercedes board, or are they simply advertising their irrelevant opinion?  I thought Ron still ran McLaren.

But of course for the record, I hope Alonzo is only driving his parents mad next year, and maybe learning some manners and respect.

Fernando will do much better at RENAULT as FLAVIO understands the complexities and personality weaknesses of ALONSO far more than the reserved and "correct" RON.

Having said that I also agree with ScottyD and wish ALONSO would get rid of his horrible off-track lack of manners, respect and career smarts.

Then I really could call him "Sweet FA"

Mercedes are the largest shareholder in McLaren so they would be asked for an opinion in a situation like this.

I didn't read anything about them being 'asked' for their opinion.  Being the largest shareholder does not automatically mean they have ANY say - but of course Ron would risk them selling their shares if they did not agree with his management.
