A fun penalty
« on: October 30, 2007, 01:16:59 PM »
On a previous thread we were discussing how to penalise drivers who use the run off areas without suffering a penalty.  We agreed that they should have a penalty but a drive through was too much.

After much thought it came to me in a blinding flash of inspiration.  Surprisingly no alcohol was harmed in the conception of this idea.  The answer to the problem is donuts.

If a driver leaves the track and gains an advantage he has to do a donut.  This has the advantage of penalising the driver and entertaining the fans.  It ahould also keep Max happy because the strategists can work out whether the driver should conserve tyres by driving round a slow circle or whether he should save time with a wheel spinning tyre shredding donut.   There would need to be an area set aside at the track for this to take place.  A mini pit lane with a three or four second entrance and exit.  The driver goes in completes a 360 degree turn and leaves.

I really need a smiley doing a donut here or one leaving in a trail of tyre smoke.
