Why does Massa talk?
« on: December 07, 2007, 10:19:16 AM »
McLaren will notice the absence of Fernando Alonso in 2008, Felipe Massa has warned.

The Ferrari driver told the Spanish television network TV3: "He has done Ferrari a great favour by leaving McLaren."

"The loss will be very significant to them (McLaren) because he is a great driver. They will notice it," Massa added.

Despite the collaboration netting four victories in 2007, Alonso and McLaren terminated their contract at the end of a tumultuous season.

Massa did not want to speculate about what team his rival might race with next year.

"I don't want to comment," he said. "He will go where he goes, and I hope it is the best for him. It's not something I really have to worry about - I am focused on my job."

Massa should be more concerned about his own job - I expect Alonzo will ditch Renault after 2008 contract shmontract, and push Massa into a testing role.  I can't stand his smugness

I suppose Felipe does have to do something to keep himself amused - and he is right. McLaren will notice the loss of Fernando Alonso. It should be loads quieter there now...

Absolutely, although they will have to construct an FIA wing at their fancy headquarters, because it seems those inspectors will be poking around at McLaren until Ron's retired or dead.

Given the way the FIA is behaving, I wouldn't even consider Ron's retirement or death to be enough to stop its ridiculous antics.
