The gun thats shoots round corners - really!

Clearly, our current conflict in Iraq was the inspiration for the Corner Shot, a gun that can literally shoot someone from around the corner.

As you can see, the gun has a built-in screen so you can exactly what you’re shooting at. I’m not certain how it works, but I’m guessing it’s got a tiny little camera or a mirror or something. The idea was probably born after watching Elmer Fudd chasing Bugs Bunny or something.

The Germans had one during WW2. They made a version of the MP 44, the original assualt rifle, that shot around corners. It used a prismatic device for sighting. It was made in 30 and 90 degree versions.

It seems that they had built a class of armored gun carriers that they didn't but self defense machine guns on. This rifle allowed the crew to shoot people off of the outside of the vehicle without exposing themselves to gunfire.

Wow Cos, you're full of useful information, I'd hate to play you at Trivial Pursuits. 

The R&D in Germany during WWII was amazing and it makes you wonder where we would be now if the war had continued. I'm not condoning war in anyway of course.

Kinda funny, it's just a pistol loaded into the contraption.  I guess it's not really needed for long range.
