This talk of Brazil 2003 brings back lots of memories. Usually, I read a book or magazine while I am watching the race. On that occasion, I was reading the latest version of F1 Magazine, but gave up on lap 25 when I realised that if I tried to do my usual reading-while-watching trick, I'd lose track of the race.
30 laps later, during the initial ad break when we all thought they were going to sort out the post-race stuff in a vaguely normal way, I returned to my magazine (whilst attempting to calculate whether full points would be given out with a calculator with one hand). By sheer coincidence, at the time I'd given up trying to read F1 Magazine, I was reading a news item about Fisi, and the sentence after the one where I'd stopped reading was "My target for 2004 is to drive a car that can win and that doesn't exclude Jordan Ford".
That kept me laughing right up until the ad break ended and I decided to start eating my tea before it got completely cold (by this stage it had been on the table for a good 10 minutes without really being touched). I would not like to say what my reaction to the news that the timekeepers had misinterpreted the race results had my mouth not been full of beef wellington at the time...
