Does anyone record the races for posterity?
« on: March 25, 2008, 03:13:05 PM »
While I was in Canada with my family, I was unable to watch either of the first two races.  For the first, I had a fellow F1 fan record Melbourne to DVD.  He didn't 'finish off' the DVD it seems and none of my machines can read the damn thing (and he pretends to be such a techie).  For the second race, my cousin's husband supposedly recorded it to VHS while we slept.  While he was setting up the VCR, he did some funny things I asked about, but he INSISTED that it would work and record that way (he has a digital box for cable, but didn't think it needed to be powered on for the night, that the VCR would take the signal directly - he was wrong.  I have a blank tape).

So, any of you Brits that may have the first two tapes on DVD or VHS, I will be happy to pay you your costs (shipping or whatever) if you trust me to and ship off copies to me.  I would be ever so grateful.

email me if you have the races.

Ok, I managed to 'hack' the DVD he used and was able to 'finish' it so I can now watch it (which I will do tonight).  So I'm only looking for Malaysia.  Anyone record it?

I used to record all F1 races and qualifying but gave up 4 or 5 years ago because they were so deadly dull it wasn't worth the cost of the tapes any more.

I have the Malaysian race on the DVD recorders HDD, I'll buy some DVD's this week.  I am quite adept at recording the DVD's (I have most of last years races too).  I even test the DVD's before I send them to anyone.  Just let me know if you are interested in it coming from Australia.
