Renault teams up with Lombardi
« on: July 10, 2006, 11:11:52 PM »
The Renault F1 Team has today announced the deployment of the award-winning TeamWorks® BPM software platform to support the "event fault" management processes for the R26 race car. This process is mission critical, as it supports car reliability objectives for any event and issues related to car operations in general. The Renault F1 Team will also incorporate TeamWorks to assist with the fault management process in its chassis factory at Enstone, UK.

This process is mission critical, as it supports car reliability objectives for any event and issues related to car operations in general. The Renault F1 Team will also incorporate TeamWorks to assist with the fault management process in its chassis factory at Enstone, UK.
“The Event Faults process is critical to the continued success of the Renault F1 Team and the R26,” said Arnaud Boulanger, Head of Process Engineering at the team's headquarters in Enstone, UK. “In most cases, faults need to be prioritized and fixed by engineering before the next "event" and certainly before race time, and Lombardi’s software enables us to do it as efficiently as possible.”

“Managing and solving problems in real-time at the circuit is one of the keys to success in Formula 1,” explained the team’s Technical Director, Bob Bell. “Whether a problem occurs during track testing or at a Grand Prix, it could ultimately prevent us from finishing a race – and therefore needs to be solved quickly and effectively. The ability to solve problems faster and more efficiently allows us to focus more of our resources on performance development and staying ahead of the competition. That can make the difference between winning and losing world championships.”

“We are proud to be such an integral part of the future success of The Renault F1Team,” said Greg Pope, Vice President of European Operations at Lombardi. “Formula 1 represents the ultimate continuous process improvement environment. Process-driven companies like the Renault F1 Team can never be satisfied with the status quo. Their deployment of our technology is the ultimate validation of Lombardi’s value proposition.”
