Honda Testing Times In Jerez
« on: July 24, 2006, 12:18:14 AM »

Rubens Barrichello joined the Honda Racing F1 Team in Jerez for the second day of the test, taking over in chassis RA106-06 from Anthony Davidson.
The weather conditions remained hot and sunny although the strong breeze from the previous day disappeared for much of the day.

Rubens began his day with a couple of familiarisation runs to acclimatise himself to the car and circuit. He then worked through a controls programme before finishing the morning session with a series of qualifying simulation runs. Rubens completed eight runs in the morning session, covering 41 laps.

Jenson Button continued his running in chassis RA106-02 for a second day. He had a good morning session evaluating the tyres for the German Grand Prix and set some encouraging lap times. Jenson completed ten runs over 57 laps in the session.

Rubens spent the afternoon evaluating the Hockenheim tyre options, using the best of the tyres from Jenson’s evaluation in the morning. He completed 35 laps, a total of 76 laps, and set the fastest time of the day – a 01:16.980.

Meanwhile Jenson worked through an aero programme, completing 46 laps. He ran for a total of 103 laps in the day, setting the second fastest time – a 01:17.408
