Alonso and Ferrari
« on: February 06, 2008, 04:34:52 PM »
Fernando Alonso has brought the loyalty and team spirit that he was famous for at McLaren along with him to Renault. In an interview with the Swiss publication Motorsport Aktuell, he heaped praise on the new Ferrari F2008.

Quote
"At the moment they have the best car and that is why everyone wants to be in the places of Kimi and Massa."

When asked if he had decided to stay with the French squad past this year, Ferd replied,

Quote
"No. My decision will depend on a combination of three factors: the competitiveness of the car, the atmosphere and the financial element."

He also spoke of his confidence in the Renault F28,

Quote
"It is going to be very difficult to fight with the fast ones; the objective is to fight for the podium."

I'm sure that Ferd has endeared himself to everyone on his new team. I hope they give him the equipment and support he deserves.

You would have thought that Briatore or his management would have explained to him how to deal with those questions as they are bound to be asked.  One thing Michael Schumacher was very good at was saying the right thing at Ferrari when his car was hopeless.  He gave an object lesson in team building.

yeah SR, FA is one helluva driver but hopeless at PR. Surely he is contracted to be a loyal team member. He needs to pull his head in and fast as he must be losing the goodwill of F1 fans by the bus load.

Nobody likes a continual complainer and his credibility for me is shot to pieces even though I do admire his driving talent.

Yes, MS was a brilliant team builder, perhaps the best ever too. Mind you he was the consummate professional in all aspects of F1 wasn't he?

Methinks lewis is becoming like him too even though he is so young.
