A1GP choose Michelin
« on: July 23, 2008, 01:54:50 PM »
Reported on a few news sites today is the story that A1GP's new Ferrari chassis will run on Michelin rubber.  I have to say I am more than a little surprised by this given that Ferrari and Bridgestone are joined at the hip I assumed that they came as a package.  I wonder if Ferrari knew about this before they won the tender.  I can't imagine Bridgestone are going to be pleased about all the joint Ferrari/Michelin branding.  Or for that matter all the photos that will appear of winning drivers with the dual branding on their overalls etc.

good point SR, as always follow the money but i wonder if this has any bearing on the recent announcement to delay the first A1GP race?

may be wrangling over this very matter - as you say very damaging to the FERRARI/BRIDGESTONE branding image; very confusing to the market although A1GP of course does not have teams from manufacturers but countries.

i guess the average punter does not see the new A1GP cars as FERRARIs
