New Ferrari - Too fast for humans?
« on: August 28, 2008, 09:53:53 AM »
This Monza concept is apparently so complicated that in theory a human brain is not fast enough to operate it.

The driver sits in a position similar to riding a motorbike and the vehicle is designed to minimise friction and stop unwanted headwinds. The driver operates it to a predetermined speed, before the onboard computer changes the aerodynamic profile and takes over.

Designer Iman Maghsoudi said the Monza is so advanced that drivers would lack the 'sufficient concentration' to control it.

A Ferrari press release that saying that?  I assume they mean drivers other than the blessed Michael or have things changed so much at Ferrari?

It doesn't look like something I would want to crash at any speed let alone the speeds they are suggestig.  What is the point to a concept that it is beyond human capability to control and yet when the inevitable happens it has no crash protection.
