Another Dare public service,investment

If you had purchased $1,000 of shares in Delta Airlines one year ago, you will have $49.00 today. If you had purchased $1,000 of shares in AIG one year ago, you will have $33.00 today. If you had purchased $1,000 of shares in Lehman Brothers one year ago, you will have $0.00 today. But, if you had purchased $1,000 worth of beer one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the aluminum cans for recycling refund, you will receive $214.00. Based on the above, the best current investment plan is to drink heavily & recycle. It is called the 401-Keg. A recent study found that the average American walks about 900 miles a year. Another study found that Americans drink, on average, 22 gallons of alcohol a year. That means that, on average, Americans get about 41 miles to the gallon!
Makes you proud to be an American!

I've heard that when you fill Ian up he tries to start but then just coughs, splutters and falls asleep.

I don't know why this springs to mind??  :DntKnw:

There are some scurrilous rumours flying around on here about me. I will be avenged.  >:D

If you put $1000.00 into my current account, you'd have about $1006 at the end of the year. Assuming it being a current account didn't tempt you to spend the money. So your common-or-garden current account is the best investment strategy ;)

I heard that the guy who played father Jack was a classical actor who had never really done much TV and had never done comedy.  For a first attempt he makes a very believable alcoholic priest.

A few clips of Father Ted to give a flavour of the program

While on the subject of British comedy series
does anyone remember Mulberry?

PBS showed it here in 93-94.Only 13
episodes were filmed. It was a strange
show that grew on you.

A third season with a conclusion was in
the plans but the BBC brass canceled it
before it was shot,a real shame

One of the local PBS stations carried Father Ted for a year or two. For years, they've run British shows on Saturday night. Are You Being Served?, Keeping Up Appearances, As Time Goes By, Last of the Summer Wine, 'Allo, 'Allo, Dr. Who and so on. The only exception was the Canadian "Red Green Show."

I can't say I have ever heard of Mulberry so I guess it wasn't that popular.

Allo Allo has always been one of my favourites so I thought I would post a couple of clips to give a flavour of it to anyone who has never seen it.

The next clip is a perfect summary of the the show
