Bernie would have the point system changed to award medals - Gold Silver and Bronze, instead of points.  Apparently if you do it retroactively this season, then Massa and Hamilton would be tied and would need to win the final race to win the championship (they didn't say what would happen if they both didn't, so let's just say this system hasn't been that well thought out).  The Constructors point system would remain the same.

Retarded?  I think so.  Why not just award the winner one point, then we won't have to do all that silly counting.  That ought to leave oh, about 7 drivers with 0 points, or 0 medals this year, and only 7 with gold's to brag about.

Hopefully it's Bernie stirring things up to try to keep the press interested after Sunday.

This is perhaps the dumbest idea for F1 I've
ever heard.

It seems to me as bernie's nears the end he figured
he can't take F1 with him so he plans on ruining
it for everyone else

Yeah so I suppose all the previous rounds in the year were just heats and the winner of the Final race becomes WDC.  :nono:

Trouble is we would be down to 7 or less cars competing in the last race if they want to adopt an Olympic style system.  :(

Do you think Bernie has been approached about a GP in Greece, there's one in Turkey so they might be jealous?

Otherwise he's just expelling a load of exhaust fumes as usual. :fool:
