Briatore:no place for Rossi in F1
« on: December 02, 2008, 03:23:23 PM »
Think I have to agree with Flav,in 2 years he'll
be 31 a little to old to start a F1 career and
I agree his colorful personality would also be
good too

C'mon, Dare, we both have to be careful about calling anyone ELSE "too old." ;)

Seriously, Rossi is right on the cusp, age wise. His only way in would be if he brought a boatload of sponsorship cash.

If Rossi wanted to drive a Renault Flavio would sign him tomorrow and start selling us on the idea that he could be world champion.

Rossi has admitted himself he is now to old for F1. After the debacle at Ferrari when Schumi had to put up or shut up over Kimi, Rossi was left out on a limb and signed again until 2010 for Moto GP. At that time he admitted his dream of F1 was over, the test at Ferrari recently was just good PR as Rossi has a huge fan base and media presence.

Flavio feels safe to make the comments as he is sure Valentino will not break his current MotoGp contract.  Quite a few teams would make room if he was available now, the massive rise in their profile would more than justify it and Rossi is a true racer so we could be sure of fireworks.
