Renault to supply engines to Red Bull
« on: September 15, 2006, 06:52:24 PM »

Renault announced this morning that it has reached an agreement with Red Bull GmbH for the supply of Renault engines for the 2007 and 2008 Formula 1 seasons.

Red Bull GmbH will confirm at a later date which of its teams (Red Bull Racing and Scuderia Toro Rosso) will use Renault engines during the 2007 season.

"It is positive for Formula 1 to have another team racing with a top-line, competitive engine, and this agreement will also reinforce Renault's presence in the sport," a join statement from Renault F1 Team President Alain Dassas and Renault F1 Team Managing Director Flavio Briatore stated. "We look forward to working with a dynamic, ambitious company such as Red Bull."

"No Matter how little money and how few possessions, you own, having a dog makes you rich."

Well start of an era, who would have thought that 7 years of this post, Almost 4 of them will be won by this team. Who would have in their wildest dream have thought that Renault will reduce as a Engine-supplier, and Red Bull make an astonishing turn around, appointing a German protege named Sebastian Vettel, who will blitz the record books with 4 consecutive titles. Renault has also introduced engine torque mapping, off-throttle diffuser to name a few.

2014 awaits massive changes in F1 in terms of engine, who knows what is there for us to be unraveled?

I agree with you Scotty, as because it was not the most powerful one, but it was the most efficient one, so they could run it a bit lighter on fuels, also it gave them the option of extra fuel to be used as "Off-throttle" Blown diffuser, which was the cornerstone for 2011 domination of RBR.

Isn't RetroF1 a fun thing Scott  :yahoo: :yahoo:
