I toasted the New Year with a lovely red strawberry milkshake, watching the fireworks (some of which were obscured by omnipresent cloud cover). The ground was solidly frozen, but it felt good.

I'm thinking of hibernating until the start of the season as it's so so cold here in England at the moment and all we have got to look foward to in the next few months is who is cutting the most from their budget in F1.

I hit the clubs early then went home for midnight. Set off some fireworks of my own, ranging from bottle rockets to the "light the sucker and run!" variety!
