Mark Twain once opined, "it's easier to con someone than to convince them they've been conned."

kinda thought that Ron Dennis would take a step back as soon as they'd won the title again, I'm sure Martin Whitmarsh will go a good job.

I'm not so sure he will do a better job - besides, it still seems that Ron will be looking over Martin's shoulder for most of the next season and I bet if there is any sort of crisis, Ron will jump right back in.  We'll see.

Ron's been hinting he wanted to retire for a while, but Max has kept him busy.

Now that Ron has beaten Max by winning the W C despite Max's unending efforts to thwart him, he must feel he can now retire, satisfied that he has finished off a job well done.

Well done Ron. What a fighter. A perfect example for everyone to follow.

Good luck in your new ventures, though we shall miss you.

It is nice to see Ron step back as a winner.  However he is still going to be running the company.  he may not be at the races and making the calls at that level but he is still going to be the guy with the veto on the board and people will still go to him because they always have.
