Peter Bryant dies
« on: April 02, 2009, 01:50:43 PM »
Peter Bryant, the Cockney racing mechanic and designer who worked with some of the top teams in F1, Indy, Can-Am and other series died of an apparent heart attack at his Las Vegas home on March 31, four days short of his 72nd birthday.

Peter started in the later 1950's as an intern at Lotus. He then went to the Bowmaker - Yeoman Credit team where he worked with drivers Surtees, Salvidori, Amon and Haiwood. He then went to Mickey Thompson to re-design his Indy car, then to Shelby to work on the Ford GT. His greatest success was designing the Ti 22 and Shadow Can Am cars. In the 90's, he designed and built the Shelby Series One concept car.

He also did CFD work for NASA

Peter was a great storyteller and his autobiography, Can Am Challenger, is a great read.

“You can search the world over for the finer things, but you won't find a match for the American road and the creatures that live on it.”
― Bob Dylan
