Brawn and Toyota on the front row,  Toyota and Williams on the second row.
If you had said this a year ago you'd have been laughed out of town.

Ferrari, McLaren ...... names from the past !

The trouble is that thanks to thedaft rules of the FIA, both Barichello and Vettell won't be starting on the second row at all, and it's nothing to do with their performances today.

Figure that one out.

John Bull,  I'll bet you're a good guy and your words ring true, " it's nothing to do with their performances TODAY."  Just remember we've got a World Champion who won the crown under those words.........he was in 6th place at Brazil and OUT of the Championship until Glock spun out! Winning the chamipionship had nothing to to with HIS performance THAT day!

I am really pleased for Button again today, and also for Nico who put in another good performance for my lot!

I'm simply expressing the point that I like the racing to be pure. If you make 2nd fastest time you should be up there on the front row, no ifs and buts. If you finish 4th you should go down in the history books as having finished 4th, barring something like deliberate cheating.

In my opinion the FIA is screwing Formula 1 by not letting the racers race. They are all so sh*t scared of breaking some daft and ambiguous law these days that they're holding back, and I'm sure you agree we certainly don't want that.

go JB go!

looks like KERS has not been that helpful so far

will it take the race to show if it has advantages over the 'diffused' lot?

somehow I think not but not too long to go - thank God!

like me are ya just sick of all the penalties being imposed?

dammit - let's just race!

With every race and with every lap KERS is showing it's complete failure. Yes it may make the cars a bit quicker in the straight but in this athmosphere of global economy, which has made the cars better costwise - pound for pound, KERS or the rear diffuser? The diffuser will have cost X pounds to develop and produce; KERS has cost X x a few million.

So much for Max's economy.

I can see that KERS at present is not showing well but I do believe that the research that has, and will continue to, go into Kers from the F1 teams will certainly push the road relevant systems into a price bracket that makes them viable.

No motor manufacturer was going to invest the big sums required in the research of KERS, even before the current economic climate, but making it part of GP will have avanced the process possibly by decades. F1 has a long history of bringing foward very rapidly technological advances that benefit all drivers, the only difference this time is the compulsion to develop it.

yeah johnS - ordinary passenger cars may have the most to benefit from this energy recovery concept, especially in hybrids some of which are already harnessing it

From what I have read in F1 Magazine this month, the most likely KERS system to be used commercially is the Williams Hybrid Power system of the flywheel as it is recyclable and has a very long lifespan (in F1 terms a full season potentially as opposed to a race for a battery, and 20 years in commercial use).
