Nows your chance to help Max cripple F1.
« on: April 08, 2009, 03:49:19 PM »
With Max and the FIA constantly looking for ways to ruin F1, I thought it might be fun to help them by creating a list of preposterous ideas to improve F1.

Driver Safety - Every driver must wear a 'Michelin Man' suit to protect him in case of an accident. Of course the cars would need widening to accommodate this extra safety precaution.

The Environment/Cost Cutting - All F1 cars must be crushed and 100% recycled to make the following seasons car.

Slow Down Cars - All teams must wrap hair and fluff around their rear wheel axles - It certainly works on my Scalextric.  ::)

I'm sure you guys can think of a few more.

Use rain tires in all conditions. The extra pit stops
will result in more lead changes and more exciting
racing :good:

Great idea Wiz! How about this one.

From next season all cars must be 2 seaters to cut administative costs. An FIA steward or paying friend of Bernie, oops sorry, the FOM rights holder will ride with each competitor (lots will be drawn to decide an even allocation throughout the field). This will ensure a witness statement is always available post race for any enquiry. This will cut down on the expense of the couriers having to bring radio tape recordings to the next race.

Car development is expensive:  everyone should run an identical sanctioned design

Pit stops are dangerous:  only 5 team members to work on a car during a stop

To raise more money from sponsors, the cars should more surface area visible to the camera:  add fenders, doors and roofs.

Track design is tricky, and building them is a long expensive process.  Also, the tire companies are forced to develop unique compounds and strategies for all locations.  Make all the tracks identical.  As long as Michelin isn't the supplier:  banked ovals for everyone!

If you want F1 to prosper in the USofA, that seems to be the Formula!

Green initiative - Cars in an F1 race will only be able to refuel by paying with an Oyster card (London public transport payment system) or similar public transport option, as an added bonus the drivers will also be able to travel to and from the race venues, and around their home city, on public transport free of charge.

TV time is costly too,so lets do away with
the podium celebrations.After crossing the
finish line the top 3 drivers will drive one
victory lap where they will slow down and
the wine and trophy's will be tossed in as
they enter the pit lane

Write the regulations at the end of the season, making it much easier to sort out who the FIA actually wants to win.

Hold Ron Dennis responsible for everything that goes wrong in F1 and fine him billions.  He will leave eventually.

Instead of commercials, cycle Max's porno video a few times per break...that ought to have people changing channels quickly.

Hold all races at 2pm British time, regardless of where they are in the world.

In a cost cutting move, do away with the now-superfluous race, and just go straight to the stewards' hearing to decide the race.

Also, make sure that the ticket prices are at least equal to the price of a small home, and that the track can't be seen from any of the spectator areas.

Environ'mental Issues' - In order to reduce the massive carbon footprint produced by F1 teams - all transportation of cars, supplies and staff members must now be made by horse and cart.

In a need for more money the Fia could post
70mph speed limits on the main straight aways.
Manpower and cost cutting speed boxes could
be placed and hefty fines dished out.

  Trials of new formats:-

The Italian GP will become a chariot race using up to eight or ten horsepower.

The Spanish GP will see all the cars leading a Bull run.

The British GP will replace the Quorn Fox Hunt one Sunday in November using Paris Dakkar vehicles.

Oh and late breaking news the Malaysian GP will only accept entries for amphibius vehicles from 2010.

Race starts are the most dangerous part of the weekend.  From now all races will start with 15 laps behind the safety car so that the race starts in the middle after things have settled down.

Just noticed this one. Well done Wiz. :good: :good: :good:

ECONOMY MEASURES
Design all tracks to go eternally down hill. Only 2 pushers allowed on the grid.

Of the 3 FIA stewards at each race neither must be able to talk the same language.

Have qualifying for the sale of telly but it is Charlie Whiting's job to chose competitors grid positions.

To make it interesting for telly the first 10 on the grid race clockwise and the next 10 race anticlockwise. Sorry I took Max's latest idea !
