JYS on taking a curve fast

I listen and watch all I can by JS

Good find, Dare! Interesting that sir Jackie mentions Fangio. I've always found the smoothness and finese of their driving styles quite similar. they never look like they're fighting the car.

JYS is still an inspiration to hear.
He can analyze and explain a situation better then any.
The master!!

I love the way he explains things.  Drive a gear to high, don't brake hard and don't press the throttle too hard.  It sounds slow but clearly it worked.

I have seen the film once years ago and I would love to see it again now that I have a better understanding of things.

Has anyone ever seen or read the Taruffi book he mentioned because that was regarded for a very long time as the seminal book on driving technique?

Or simply ignore the Teamworks guy's instructions and often use the brake and throttle together (no, the motor does not cut out like he said...I was doing it almost the entire evening).

I don't think this technique is currently in vogue. MS popularised the brake very hard, very late to kick the back out and rotate the car into the corner style that many of the current drivers use. Having one smooth driver and one MS style driver has caused problems for some of the teams in car development.

You've never tried it in an electric kart!
