Little Luigi has just sent me photos of Ferrari's secret "straight line" tests.
They are using a single track service road, off site.......it's two and a half kms long
and has a turntable on each end. Further details expected soon.

Ah, so Luigi missed the important bit.  Big Bantonado sent me pics of the road from the pits to the service road - loads of interesting corners, all sorts of radii, and a long straight bit at both ends...

The FIA now has an approved list of straight line test locations but I have never seen it.  Does the track they are at have a particularly long straight? {Steven Roy - 4 comments ago}

More worryingly, there is no reference to it in the regulations, meaning the FIA has no power to actually enforce this list.

Vairano is one of Italy's many club circuits.

Here's an interesting reference:  http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=Vairano

And here's the track itself. No long straights to write home about !!!

So who are Ferrari trying to kid ?

They must have been running it up and down the pit straight...
